Research
My research involves the study of RNA structural motifs in short, synthetic RNA oligonucleotides. RNA samples are synthesized synthetically and are then deprotected, purified, and annealed. RNA thermodynamics (change in free energy, enthalpy, and entropy) are derived from optical melting data collected using UV spectroscopy. Three-dimensional structure and dynamics are investigated by 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). RNA motifs of interest include those motifs that occur most frequently in nature and those containing base or backbone modifications. Visit the Znosko Lab Website here.
