Our
research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application
of nanoscale materials. Nanoscience is a major focus worldwide
with the potential to develop and tailor the properties of
entirely new classes of materials. There are tremendous possibilities
to develop new materials with applications in sensors, catalysts,
engineering materials, molecular electronics, and biochemistry.
We are currently working on synthesis of new types of semiconductor
core-shell nanoparticles and in the synthesis and characterization
of nanowires. We use UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence
spectroscopy, laser flash Photolysis, scanning electron microscopy
(SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to characterize
our materials. |
